Attempt to get ‘Salvation by Christ Alone’ D058 on the Floor Beginning

As I noted earlier, the Committe on Evangelism has attempted to simply have this motion discharged and not debated by the House.
A speaker is now claiming that language such as that found in this resolutions was used by those who carried out the Holocaust. A Fort Worth deputy has just said, “To me the personhood of Jesus Christ… is the only message of hope and forgiveness we have in a dying and broken world. Surely every quarter of a century we can reaffirm in a resounding fashion that Jesus Christ is Lord.” Now a speaker is arguing that we should not commit to “one theory” of the atonement, noting the substitutionary language in the resolution.
